Callahan Noelle Davenport

Hello! My name is Callahan (Caleigh) Davenport. I am a music educator currently working at the International School of Prague in Prague, Czechia.

I identify as a "third culture kid" otherwise known as a TCK as I have spent a majority of my life living outside my passport country. Growing up in international schools has given me a unique perspective now as an educator, one I hope to use to give students, like myself, numerous opportunities to create, learn, and love music.

In my teaching I hope to push students to understand that they too have the skills to be a musician and that it is not limited to the very best. I believe that everyone is a musician in some form and it is my goal to help students unlock their inner musician. It is my hope that students walk away from my music class with a greater understanding of their own ability as musicians as well as a greater understanding of music from around the globe. I hope it kindles the flame of passion in those students that already have a love for music and creates a spark interest in those who have never considered it.

It is my belief that making music is a fundamental human right and need; it is our most basic way to express emotions when words fail us. I hope to share this belief and my passion for singing with you this year. For everyone is capable of something musical, if nothing else to simply share and enjoy it.

When I am not in the music classroom I can also be found on the basketball court or in the pool as I love to play/participate in a multitude of sports. I can also be found in the theatre, a lifelong love and work experience throughout college has kept me near and dear to it. I will often try my best to help out in whatever way I can with a production as well as auditioning for others around the city.

When I am not working I enjoy; reading, catching up with new and old friends over tea or coffee, dancing, and playing a good board/video game. I not only enjoy teaching music but making it and am always looking for a community where I can join in to create music and memories.

Collaborative storytelling is one of my favorite ways to get to know new people. Getting a group together to create an epic adventure is one of the best ways to truly get to know one another. I look forward to making music or telling stories with you soon!
